April 21st 2015 marks D Day for non responsive websites or websites that are not mobile-friendly.
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”
Why was this announced? Mobile usage has been steadily increasing which means that more and more searches are being performed on mobile devices. Google has taken note of this and is moving with the noted changes, to give their (googles) users a better overall experience. Thats the way the google machine works and is always looking to improve the overall browsing experience for its valued users.
